Handmade Mini Notebooks
Join us to make these cute little notebooks, great as little homemade gifts or to keep for yourself!
You will need:
A4 paper (white or coloured), Patterned or plain paper or card, pens and stickers to decorate.
Instructions:
*Fold a plain piece of paper in half so the short ends meet, then in half again.
*Fold the card in half the opposite way so the long ends meet, and then fold in half again.
*Open the paper back out and lay it flat on a hard surface. With a ruler draw a horizontal line along the top fold line, starting after the first box. On the 2nd fold line draw a horizontal line from the edge but stopping before the last box., For the third fold line draw a horizontal line after the first box.
*cut along each alternating line.
*Fold the paper alternating back and forth to form the inside of the notebook.
*Cut a piece of card to form the cover of your notebook and glue it in place to the front a back pages.
*Decorate your notebook and enjoy using it, or gifting it to someone else!
Paper Daffodils
You will need:
card, cup cake cases, paper straws (or strips of card/lolly pop sticks for stalks), pens or paint, glue, and scissors.
Instructions:
*Cut out the shape of the petals, and colour in yellow.
*Colour in a cupcake case in yellow or orange. (My daughter also used a golden wrapper from a well-known nutty chocolate brand).
*Add glue to the centre of the yellow petals shape, and stick the cupcake case to it.
*Stick one end of the straw to the back of the flower head.
*Cut long narrow leaf shapes and colour (if desired) to match the straw colour. Stick the leaves to the straw.
*Once fully dried, display your flowers in an empty vase!

Next time you go camping why not give some of these ideas a try, the whole family are sure to love them. These will definitely elevate any camping experience.
We will definitely be making these the next time we camp in the garden, or anywhere else for that matter! Fingers crossed for some dry weather.

Make Your Own Positivity Stones
The first step to creating some beautiful and uplifting stones is to find some perfect stones for the task. Ideally they will have at least one fairly smooth surface that you can write your message on.
We used a mixture of paint marker pens and my old paint palette to create these ones.
These ones featured have not yet been varnished, but to extend their use it is advisable to give them a coat or 2 of something that will seal and protect them. For use in the garden we use yacht varnish as it is pretty durable.
You could put them in a nice bag to use when needed, display them somewhere you can look at them daily. dot them around your local area for people to see or find, or make as little gifts for those you care about.

HOW TO MAKE YOUR MINI BUG HOTEL
You will need: an empty (small) crisp tube, garden cane, small sticks, moss/lichen, leaves, empty drink bottle (optional)
- First of all you will need to scoff the contents of a short tube of tasty crisps in your preferred flavour! Well done, your first task is complete!
- For a little added waterproofing we cut a section from an empty juice bottle to fit over the outside of our crisp tube and glued it in place. This is optional.
- Once your tube is empty you will need to ask a grown up to cut up a garden cane into pieces roughly the height of the empty tube.
- If you do not have a cane to spare or would like to add extra interest to your bug hotel then gather up small sticks, lichen and moss you find lying on the ground (please do not remove directly from trees).
- Fill your tube with the cane, sticks, moss and lichen.
- Find the best location for your bug hotel. You can add string to hang it up, or position it somewhere in your garden. We opted for a scenic spot at the foot of our acer in a large pot. It is nice and mossy with garden views!
- we covered our hotel with grass clippings but you can use leaves, small sticks, moss or lichen for this too.
- Hey presto! You have created the dream hotel for your bug guests to enjoy! Well done nature hero!
